The Republic gunship became an instant fan favorite upon its surprise debut during the climax of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and subsequent appearances in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and now, fans have brought it back. Until a swarm of Republic gunships show up, that is, filled with clone troopers, laying waste to countless battle droids, and even giving Yoda a ride. There is little hope for the guardians of peace and justice. The secret Sith Lord Count Dooku watches from above, demanding surrender. Finally, they can roll away from the thermal detonators or particularly heavy fire, but this is unusual.Battle droids surround vastly outnumbered Jedi in the Geonosis arena.
They can occasionally crouch to avoid fire, but lack any awareness of cover or the health/ammo droids. They will also use the Thermal Detonators against any vehicles or in crowded places. When AI-controlled, Clone troopers will always use their rifles against their enemies, never having to switch to pistols. The pistol has infinite ammo but overheats after too many shots, and will be replaced by Elite pistol after 6 kills with it (see Battlefront Achievements for more information). The blaster pistol and Thermal Detonators in Battlefront are the same no matter which class wields them. The latter always has 144 ammo and fires in second-long purple 5-shot bursts instead of continous blaster fire, with one burst usually being enough to kill enemy troops. It will be replaced by the Elite Rifle after player manages to kill 12 enemies with it. Their blaster rifle only has 200 ammo, which is considerably lower then usual, but is otherwise identical to the equivalents. Like all mainline infantry, they're armed with a blaster rifle, blaster pistol and 4 thermal detonators, with anti-vehicle concussion grenades also available to them in the first game.
